As a life-long District resident, I have seen it change and evolve over the years. In many cases for the better, but I'm not sure it's always been with the interests of my generation in mind. My vision for the community is to preserve everything we love about it, while ensuring it continues to be livable for all generations. From youth, to growing families, to seniors, it's important that all voices at every stage of life are heard.
I am particularly concerned about the ‘missing generation’, those between 20 and 40, who are leaving the North Shore due to high housing costs. That’s a big concern for me and I would like to be your voice on council as we work to resolve this problem.
I am passionate about helping others and I believe the District of North Vancouver is the best place in the world to live. I want to bring a new perspective and generation of leadership, to engage a younger demographic of voters, and to hear about the issues that are important to them. While technology has made it easier than ever for people to connect and be heard, voter turnout and community participation remains low. Let’s change that!
Local government has the greatest impact on our day-to-day lives. It’s important for Council to listen to the needs of the community by being extremely open and accessible, helping people at every opportunity, and being able to discuss, respectfully debate, and make decisions that are in the best interest of our community. My greatest strengths are my compassion for others and my ability to connect with all types of people. With your help, I will bring these strengths to Council. I would be honoured to have your support.
